Behind the brand:
Innika Choo is the gorgeous island living lady behind a newly launched collection of smocks, produced in her adopted homeland of Bali. Having left Australia for London and working as a nail technician, she manicured some pretty well-known hands before heading to Dubai to be a fashion stylist and has now settled in Bali, where her cotton Vyshyvanka-inspired tunics with voluminous sleeves and embroidered details are made by locals working in a happy environment for a fair wage.
Why we love it…
While there’s not much to see on Innika Choo’s website as almost every style has sold out, check her out on Instagram where you’ll see just how good these Ukranian-style smocks look in everyday life. She’s the perfect brand ambassador and it doesn’t take long before you’re desperately wishing your favourite smock will come back into stock so you can snap it up. While our lives might be a million miles away from heading to market for fresh, green coconuts with our two adorable kids, Innika sells the lifestyle under the Balinese sun like no other. The linen smocks are perfect for holidays and workdays, wear them loose or cinched at the waist, with bare legs and flats or jeans and heels; surprisingly versatile, you’ll wonder what you ever did without one.
