Behind the brand
Former Vogue Australia Fashion Editor Fiona Kowalski entered the world of children’s fashion just two years ago following the birth of daughter Gidget. Her garments are pretty but not fussy. They’re teeshirts, bonnets and bloomers that fit a beach-style lifestyle (like her own in Sydney’s Bondi Beach). The range is designed for tots from three months up to five years old and has a layering focus. In it you’ll find a lovely range of colourful paisley prints, eye-catching florals and ikats inspired by many areas around the globe. The ethos of the collections is prettiness mixed with practicality – the opposite of “French fussiness,” says Kowalski.
Why we love it
Printebebe describe their collection as “effortless and free” – and that’s a description that applies for both kids and parents. In other words, the prints on the garments cover up a multitude of marks and spills while the drawstring pants and smock dresses are incredibly practical. The clothes are so comfortable there’s no trouble getting kids to put them on in the first place. Favourite items from the collection include the pretty printed bloomers with frills and the practical long-sleeved smock blouses. Celebs who have fallen for this very Australian brand include Home and Away actress Eliza Taylor and news/weather presenter Sarah Kirby.
