Behind the brand:
Serbian-born Roksanda Ilincic, a St Martin’s graduate, had already been impressing the likes of Michelle Obama and the Duchess of Cambridge with her adult line when, following the birth of Efimia three years ago she decided to look at adding a ‘mini me’ range to coincide with her own lifestyle of motherhood and career women. As a result, she likes to keep things practical so that many of her simple basics can be quickly hand washed. The look is about glamour but with simple cuts (to allow movement and comfort) and essentially, bright colours. There is also plenty of ruffles, ribbon fastening and detailing such as contrast piping. The target group for her Blossom collections is babies to eight years old.
Why we love it:
You can tell Ilincic has had fun designing her Blossom ranges – their Crayola colours and styles are so playful and, better still, kids love wearing them. It’s all about brightness and the comfort of soft fabrics. She says her sole aim is to design “beautiful, well-made comfortable clothing for all ages.” The fact Ilincic has taken her popular block colour designs and ‘shrunk’ them to kids size is just so cute. Her Blossom debut range is still a big favourite with its mix of stretch jersey, wool crepe and silks with celebrity fans including, Mrs Fashion herself, Victoria Beckham and hubby.
