Behind the Brand
Graduate of he Royal College of Art (footwear) and Cordwainer’s College, Sophia Webster has, for a long time now, enjoyed success with her unique women’s wear shoes. The award-winning shoemaker is renowned for her modern take on classic styles such as the Coco Pump with Flamingo heel detailing. Her mini collection for little girls and boys was launched soon after the birth of her daughter Bibi Blossom. This she described as “all about fun.” Awards Webster has picked up include those from the British Fashion Council, Conde Naste and Browns Shoes.
Why we love it
These shoes truly are all about fun. There are feminine butterfly sandals such as the Chiara mini for little girls and Riley, a multi-coloured high top baseball boot for little boys. Then there is the Wiley for both sexes – a hand-drawn black and white polka dot print (the heel of which has a spearmint leave design). Webster sells her shoes via the occasional pop-up store in London while exclusive stores such as Harvey Nicks (London) and Saks (Fifth Avenue, New York) are also more than happy to sell them. The designer – who loves doing the ‘mini me’ footwear look with herself and Bibi – also sells via her online store.
