Pampelone: the IT girl label ‘changing the resortwear market as we knew it’ (according to VOGUE)

“My biggest career highlight was VOGUE stating that Pampelone was ‘changing the resortwear market as we knew it’,” says Holly Anna Scarsella, the glamorous London-based brunette behind fashion label Pampelone...

If you haven’t heard of Pampelone, you’re bound to have a piece hanging in your wardrobe soon: it’s the resortwear label of the moment. Scarsella, a former fashion publicist, spent her childhood split between the UK and her family home in St Tropez so it’s no surprise that the chic women that flock to the Cote D’Azur inspire her designs. As usual, VOGUE was right: Pampelone has changed the resortwear market and Scarsella has made looking stylish in summer a whole lot easier with her effortlessly glam embroidered dresses, playsuits and blouses which are made from luxurious cotton that’s woven in India. They’re also loved by celebrities such as Olivia Palermo and Blake Lively. We caught up with Scarsella to find out more about Pampelone, her business and style tips (“a good manicure – it gives the illusion of a well put-together woman”) and more. We also thought we’d give you a little fashion inspiration before the summer break starts, so we headed to the beach with friends Sigourney Cantelo from Beauticate and Canna Campbell from SugarMamma.TV dressed in our favourite Pampelone pieces.

When I wake up...

I sit and spend time with my husband. Even if it’s just a 10 minute conversation with a cup of coffee, it always starts my day with a smile.

Before I go to bed...

I look at my diary for the next day and mentally prepare myself. I would rather do this the night before, so I wake up in the morning aware of what’s ahead and without any scary surprises. I keep my mornings as relaxed as possible.

My childhood was spent…

Being happy. When I look back to my childhood I remember immense happiness at just being able to be a child. Children grow up too fast these days.

My approach to wellbeing is…

Practical. I’m aware of its importance both physically and mentally, however due to my busy schedule, am realistic about how to fit it into my days and weeks. My ultimate luxury is dedicating one evening a week solely to myself. No work – just me, silky pyjamas and a trashy movie.

I treat myself by...

Turning off my emails and phone.

My role model is…

My Mum. She has overcome so much in her life, yet shows so much compassion – even when undeserved. She teaches me to be a better version of me.

The definition of success is...

Ultimate happiness.

If I wasn't doing what I'm doing today…

I would probably still be a fashion publicist, wishing I was doing what I do today.

My mother taught me…

To approach every situation with a kind heart, no matter how difficult this may be.

Happiness is...

Being surrounded by my family.

My career path has…

Taken a few detours…

I’d describe Pampelone as…

The most wonderful and fulfilling thing I’ve ever done. It’s also incredibly personal – the inspiration behind the brand itself comes directly from my childhood spending a huge amount of time in the South of France. I can look at every piece and know exactly which place inspired the design, colour palette and even the name.

A great resortwear look is…

Effortless.

My summer fashion essentials are…

Oversized sunglasses in tortoiseshell – I’m currently coveting a great Celine pair. SPF moisturizer to keep the skin dewy – my favourite is Laura Mercier.  A panier beach bag – nothing fancy or over the top, mine are simple and woven from the market in St Tropez.

2017 is going to be the year that I…

Try not to worry as much.

My new collection is…

Inspired by the old town in Ibiza – a slightly hippie, colourful collection yet still with a very clear Riviera style.

“ I’d describe the Pampelone woman as a sartorially savvy woman who loves to travel, yet wants to feel relaxed in her summer outfits ”

I get inspired by…

European beach destinations, from St Tropez to Sardinia.

Social media is…

Consuming yet essential.

My time management secret is…

Diary planning. I use my diary as a ‘to-do list’ so I know exactly what task I’m completing at what point in the day. It really helps with efficiency.

Having my own business is…

All consuming, yet incredibly fulfilling.

Today I’m wearing…

Black Donna Ida Rizzo Jeans (the smartest yet most comfortable out there), a leopard-print Equipment shirt and nude Bionda Castana Pumps.

The last meal I ate was...

Leftover Banana Loaf for breakfast with a large coffee.

My style essentials are…

Heels. I have to be ready for meetings at a moments notice, my favourite at the moment are a navy Jimmy Choo pointed court. Fine gold necklaces – I layer a drop Rosie Fortescue Jewellery chain with Missoma classics. And finally a good manicure – It gives the illusion of a well put-together woman.

I relax by…

Reading books.

My most annoying habit is…

My innate ability to overanalyze every situation, and the fact I’m an over-worrier.

My next travel destination is...

Lake Como.
