Tailor your UV protection
Winter is fast approaching, but that doesn’t mean you say no to sunscreen. Apply a minimum SPF 30 everyday come rain or shine, as damaging rays can still penetrate through the clouds. In the park: Alpha-H Daily Essential Moisturiser SPF30+, offers high-factor protection in a formula that lasts without feeling greasy. To work: Crème de La Mer The Reparative Skin Tint SPF30, is packed with antioxidants and red algae to reduce pores and helps to mop up free radical damage from pollution. Exercising: Invisible Zinc 4Hr Water Resistant SPF50+ Sunscreen, is sweat resistant and offers high-factor protection in a splash and sweat-proof formula that lasts.
L-R: Alpha-H Daily Essential Moisturiser SPF30+, $46.95. Crème de La Mer The Reparative Skin Tint SPF30, $125
Know the golden rules of bronzing in winter
A sweep of bronzer looks so pretty and youthful when used to add warmth, rather than dramatically change your skin colour. Pick a bronzer two shades darker than your skin tone and apply with a medium-sized brush in a figure of ‘3’ down the sides of your face, forehead, cheekbones and chin, then go down the middle of your face. Try MAC Bronzing Powder.
Master a new skincare regime
You need to up your skin game as the weather chills. Switch to moisture boosting cleansing balms, oils under your moisturiser and don’t forget a hydrating mask twice a week. Try Elemis Pro-Collagen Cleansing Balm and Sunday Riley Juno Cellular Face Oil.

Do a smoky daytime eye
Metallic shadows add depth without looking heavy, making them perfect for daytime eyes. Nars Eyeshadow Duo in Kalahari has tan-enhancing flecks of gold and look beautiful when smudged gently over the lids.
Go for a winter spritz
Try a new scent to add an instant hit of warmth whether you’re hanging out at home or meeting fellow mums in the park. Try Bulgari Eau Parfumèe au Thè Noir.
Be open to orange
Orange-toned coral lip colours will bring instant light to your face. Try Tarte Amazonian Butter Lipstick in Coral Blossom for a soft, modern take on winter lips.
Blend your perfect base
One of the downsides of no beach time is looking pasty. But, mixing your foundation with a liquid bronzer like Giorgio Armani Maestro Liquid Summer will instantly warm up your complexion without looking fake.
Nail the winter pedi
Not sure what shade to paint your nails? Top shades for winter are opaque beige, charcoal grey and navy. Try MAC Studio Nail Lacquer in Sweet Potion, OPI Nail Lacquer in Dark Side of the Mood, or Butter London Nail Polish in Royal Navy.
Fake a winter glow
You want to radiate health and wellbeing, like you’ve spent a week at the spa, yes? So, this means exfoliating your body once a week and using a body lotion daily to nix dry, scaly skin. Better still, use a gradual tanner, then you can say goodbye to pasty skin as well. Try St Tropez Gradual Tan Everyday.
Unleash your inner Gisele
Bronde, waves and the chop is where it’s at when it comes to hair trends, as they are an instant way to refresh your look. A few highlights around your face will brighten the complexion, as does cutting your hair shorter and adding a slight bend to it. You don’t have to go for a massive chop, just a few centimetres of the ends will make a difference. Spritz in a texturizer, and then add random bends with a wand. Try the Ghd Curve Classic Wave Wand.
