About the brand:
Very much a fun and stylish children’s shoe brand, AKID is the brainchild of Los Angeles husband and wife duo Matt George and Ashleigh Dempster. George is a sneaker designer who has collaborated with the likes of the Adidas team in the past while Dempster is a designer and shoe fanatic. It was the birth of their first child Jasper that encouraged the couple of switch their focus from adult shoes to smaller footwear. The arrival of their other son Stone a couple of years later convinced them their new creative direction was the right one. Dempster says she likes to think of their brand as “stylish, edgy and comfortable.”

Why we love it…
There is a whole selection of fab kids shoes and sneakers to choose from here. There’s the snake-effect desert boots and leopard print moccasins for starters, or consider the slip ons with gold studs, the metallic gold leather boots or the Anthony shoes in bandana print where each foot is a different shade. Then there are the hipster shoes sporting hand-drawn doodles.  As well as being stylish Akid’s shoes and boots are also super comfortable for little ones and designed so that they can be worn without socks.
