Behind the brand:
It was the never-ending search for an upmarket tutu for her daughter that made dress designer Andrea Rembeck realise there was a niche in the market for quality, exquisite clothing for little girls. So she set up the sought-after-by-celebs brand Tutu Du Monde. Rembeck cut her teeth on Australian brands such as Collette Dinnigan and Lisa Ho and today her own unique take is a collection for little girls which is based on vintage, antique, French and simply beautiful clothing that’s a joy to both wear and look at. Think individualised garnets produced from the softest natural cotton, finest tulle and silk organza and you’re almost there.
Why we love it…
Just ask the likes of Jessica Alba, Nicole Richie, Sarah Jessica Parker, Nicole Kidman, Beyoncé, Isla Fisher, Jessica Simpson and even P.Diddy what the big deal is when it comes to Tutu Du Monde – for all their little ones have been photographed showing off one of Rembeck’s creations. Tutu Du Monde is all about capturing the innocence and spirit of childhood. It’s the fun of dress up theatre but without having to perform. And what little girl doesn’t want to be a princess or flower girl? Dresses and capes with matching jewelled headgear and ballet pumps – all designed in Australia and handmade in India. Really, what’s not to like?
