It’s no secret that we love linen...
Founded by Sydney mother Nicolle Sullivan, one of our favourite linen brands is Cultiver (they offer an 18 strong colour range and they’ve also recently branched into apparel). As the summer season kicks off, we thought we’d ask Nicolle for five styling tips to transform our bedrooms into beautiful havens (hint: try sage green and add some king pillows). If you’re keen to hear more, Cultiver offers a personalised styling advice and also complimentary swatches so you can feel the quality of their linen and see the colours in your own space.
1. King pillows
So many people don’t know about these! A wider than standard pillow that more aptly fits a king bed (without a big gap in the middle). We offer linen pillowcases to cover king pillows in all out 18 sheet colours and have recently introduced the Lumbar Cushion in 4 heavyweight linens to coordinate with our bed-covers in the Mira collection.
2. Heavyweight pieces
Although we are going into summer in the southern hemisphere I am currently enjoying our heavyweight pieces. I love the simplicity of a bed made with just a simple bedcover and coordinating pillows, and they are the perfect blanket weight to sleep under with a sheet in summer.
3. Colour palette
Colour wise, I think a tonal look within the cool or warm spectrum is most classic and sophisticated. Our latest Bluestone works really well with Ash and Navy.
4. Try sage
I love Sage for non-pink loving girls’ rooms – my own girls though fall into the pink loving category so I pair this with Pinstripe to add a bit more interest while still keeping it soft.
5. Les Minis.
My girls are obsessed with their mini pillows and take them whenever we travel, I take comfort knowing I can wash off the plane germs easily when we get home.
