Good morning! It’s Mother’s Day – or Mothering Sunday – so we hope you’re in bed as you read this. We hope you’ve been spoilt with kisses and cuddles, because today is all about you. To celebrate, we’ve rounded up some of the wonderful women we’ve profiled on The Grace Tales and shared some of their memorable quotes – from tips on motherhood to what success means to them. So relax, get inspired and enjoy this special day. Oh and always remember these wise words: ‘There’s no way to be a perfect mother and a million ways to be a good one.’ Photography: Lauren Michelle, Thea Courtney

“ I think that structure is incredibly important. It makes a child feel confident – they know the routine and they know what’s coming next. From the beginning I made sure I had good people around to guide me ”

“ Stimulation and leisure in equal parts makes a happy home. None of us are happy when we are just sitting around, but none of us are more happy with when coming home after a day out or a holiday, and spending the night on the sofa for a movie night ”

“ My tip for surviving motherhood is to find a bunch of likeminded mamas who make you laugh through the madness ”
Anna Whitehouse, founder of Mother Pukka
“ I interviewed lots of fashion industry mothers for Vogue shortly after returning to work after my second baby and Charlotte Dellal’s “Happy mother equals happy child” has stayed with me. And my own mother has persuaded me that I’m not potentially ruining their lives with every decision – so I’m safe to follow my instincts ”

“ Motherhood has taught me a lot about myself, for instance that I am less flexible than I thought, but tougher and stronger too… Also that raising a child is the single most challenging thing I have ever done, but also the most rewarding, and that everything gets easier with time. Oh and that I should have been much, much nicer to my mother ”

“ Success is a very personal thing. For me it’s the important things in life – I wouldn’t pin it on anything monetary. It’s having a family, a great partner, friends, feeling fulfilled and having a creative outlet – that’s really important to me ”
