After a whirlwind of launches across the globe, on Friday 12th April, we were so delighted to finally launch our coffee table book, GRACE Mothers - Letters to Our Children, to our readers where it all began, in Sydney.
100 guests came together for a beautiful morning that started the way every Friday should, with a glass of sparkling and beachside views. Overlooking Shelly Beach at the renowned Boathouse, we connected, laughed and cried in the distinctive GRACE Talks way. Photography by Grace Alyssa Kyo
Our exclusive brand partner (and long-time favourite of The Grace Tales), Clarins, was on hand with a delightful pamper station and giveaways for our guests.
All attendees walked away with a goodie bag that included Clarins‘ beautiful Beauty Flash Balms, Tonic Body Treatment Oils and Joli Rouge Lipsticks in Soft Berry. One very lucky guest as also gifted a lucky door prize from Clarins of their Extra-Firming Gift Set, valued at over $600.
It also goes without saying that the event was filled with inspiration and honest conversation.
We kicked off with an introduction from The Grace Tales’ founder, Georgie Abay, followed by an interview with Georgie and the co-author of GRACE Mothers, the incredible photographer Julie Adams. Julie and Georgie spoke with our editor-in-chief Amy Malpass Hahn about their career journeys, life as entrepreneurs, their unique friendship, and of course, GRACE Mothers. This was followed by an interview with the remarkable Sam Bloom, hosted by Georgie Abay. Sam inspired the audience with her unmistakable honesty, down-to-earth approach and unstoppable inspiration. Talking about her accident, family, friendship, and what it feels like to have Naomi Watts playing her in a film … She left the audience in tears while feeling simultaneously uplifted. With so many of us in awe, Sam showed us (as always) how important it is to live each day to its fullest potential, and the importance of cherishing our families.
Of course, a Friday morning wouldn't be complete without some delicious food, and The Boathouse certainly did not disappoint.
We were so delighted to celebrate the launch of GRACE Mothers with such a wonderful group of women (and a few men!), and already look forward to our next event.
