Given we still have around a month left of winter (anyone else counting down until spring?), I wanted to share three winter items every wardrobe needs (and basically, isn't complete without)...
Now is also a great time to make winter purchases (even if you store the item away until next winter) as everything is on sale. Here’s a glimpse into what keeps my wardrobe ticking during the colder months. And if you’re after more styling advice, make sure you follow @grace_styling on Instagram.

A trench coat
While many of you might want to opt for beige or black if this is your first trench coat purchase, I wanted to go for bold winter colour. I’ve had so many compliments on this Norma Kamali trench coat (you can buy it here and it comes in lots of great colours). This particular trench is made from soft stretch jersey so it’s a very relaxed silhouette, which makes me love it even more. It isn’t the warmest of coats so I tend to layer underneath – I’ll wear a Uniqlo Heat Tech top under a sweater most days. I also live in Uniqlo knitwear. Mango has a fantastic and affordable selection of trench coats or I also found this heavenly Viktoria & Woods one in a divine oxblood colour.
While Gucci loafers are on my wishlist, they’re out of my budget right now. I love Everlane for loafers – there are lots and lots of great colours and styles to choose from and they’re beautifully made. I’ve bought two pairs and they’ve seen me through all of winter. The burgundy ones I’m wearing here have sold out, but they’re available in white or black.
Finally, the crossbody bag. Even if you’ve also got a baby bag in tow, I love keeping all my essentials such as keys and credit cards in a cross-body bag for easy access – and they don’t get buried under the mountain of stuff you need when you’re with the kids. This is the second Nico Giani bag I’ve bought and I use one daily. There is a small selection of them on sale at Matches now. I’ve included some of my favourite below!
