With so little time and endless to-do lists, it’s seemingly impossible to find a moment to give our faces the holy grail of skincare – a facial treatment...
Thankfully, our resident beauty expert Isabella Schimid took it upon herself to try a different method of pampering – the sheet mask. Her findings left her pleasantly surprised – with the masks being easy to use, with instant results, and best of all? Able to be worn while watching Netflix or doing the washing (probably a much more likely scenario). Here, she shares her tips on sheet masks, as well as some of her favourites. Most sheet masks are a soft cloth fabric and mould to your face or under your eye area. They are infused with serums and active ingredients to give your skin the perfect pick-me-up or an extra boost before a special occasion. (Beauty insiders’ tip: before every professional makeup application I do, I give the skin a nice massage using a jade roller, followed by an application of a sheet mask for 10 minutes. It provides the perfect base for a natural, glowing skin.)

Endota Spa High-Performance Lifting Mask An ultra-hydrating, concentrated cloth mask and serum in one. This mask replenishes, sculpts and lifts the skin. My skin felt hydrated, firm and radiant after using it. Each pack contains 4 serum-infused cloth masks. Go To Transformazing Sheet Mask A serum-drenched sheet mask that transforms regular skin (as well as thirsty, sad, hungover or tired skin)! This one is amazing – it creates very glowy, very luminous skin. With Vitamin C and E, as well as botanicals, my skin felt plumped, nourished, bright and even-toned. Societe’ Skincare Peptide Gel Mask This is a very active, intense mask which made my skin even, rejuvenated and moisturised. They use a unique formulation of peptides, plant-based stem cells and great anti-ageing ingredients. The results were great even after just one use.

skyn ICELAND Hydro Cool Firming Eye Gels These cooling under-eye gel patches help firm, tone and de-puff that delicate under-eye skin within just ten minutes. They felt amazing and left my eye area hydrated and really smooth. MIZON Enjoy Vital-Up Time Moisture Mask For dull, dehydrated skin, these sheet masks are an intense moisture boost. They looked and felt great. MECCA COSMETICA Bright Eyed Eye Mask Like instant beauty sleep for the under-eye area, this gold-fleck mask delivers a hit of moisture to brighten, lift and minimise puffiness. And it did just that. Charlotte Tilbury Revolutionary Instant Magic Facial Dry Sheet Mask Get glowing, red-carpet-ready skin in just 15 minutes … Really. This mask was the only dry fabric sheet mask, and I was interested to see how it worked. The results were beautiful and my skin looked radiant. The fabric has already been impregnated with tiny vectors of vitamins, floral extracts, peptides, oils and butters – which are delivered directly into the third layer of the epidermis. It was easy to use but fair warning – you do need to sit still, as it doesn’t mould onto the skin in the same way that the wet masks do. Now, we’re off to practice some self-care in the form of a sheet mask anti-ageing While doing the washing, of course.
