Seal Rocks epitomises Australian summer holiday bliss…
It is such a beautiful part of the world, so close to home but so removed. By the end of the year, the whole family starts talking about Seal Rocks. It’s definitely the place we love to go to unwind and spend quality time together. There is so much raw beauty there – you are right amongst the national park and very much surrounded by nature.
“ A highlight for our family is definitely the dolphins… they are in abundance. We spend much of the day watching them, chasing them (literally), talking about them… it’s a hot topic in our house! ”

My husband has been holidaying in that area of the North coast since he was a kid…
We met overseas but as soon as we returned to Australia we started holidaying at nearby Blueys beach but it only took a day trip to Seal Rocks and we were hooked. We have now been holidaying there for the past five years.
If you have a family of surfers you are in paradise…
There are so many wonderful surf beaches to explore such as Treachery and Lighthouse beach. This year we rented a two-man kayak for our stay and the kids loved it! They found themselves amongst pods of dolphins, spotting turtles… exploring the hard to get to spots. It was heavenly.
Seal Rocks is definitely a destination holiday place…
Once you’re there the most luxurious thing is not going anywhere else. With that being the case, you really need to come well stocked (which goes against my obsession for travelling lightly!). There are no restaurants and enjoying a lovely meal while on holidays is essential. We make sure we bring up lots of lovely indulgences, an abundance of fresh fruit and vegetables and then fill the gaps with trips to the local fishmonger (a 20 minute drive) to pick up fresh seafood.
My summer style essentials are fairly basic…
When you’re in Seal Rocks it is literally beach time and then cocktails on the balcony. My favourite sunglasses, a big hat, a do-it all bag, an assortment of white cotton from beach dresses to shirts, flats in all shapes and colours, some lounge-around-and-read-a-book-trousers. Also a little bit of fun summer jewellery – so unnecessary but that’s about as dressed up as it gets.
Beautiful holiday snaps…. perfectly dreamy. ?
