School’s out and children are looking for something to relax and enjoy the summer in. There is a host of new launches for days at the beach - or rainy wet play, as well as high street collections that could easily pass for designer...
Here’s what not to miss.
ALDO KIDS
This is high street shoe haven Aldo’s first foray into kids footwear and if it’s anywhere near as good as the adult lines we’re already sold. There are great leather hi-tops and formal lace-up brogues for boys, as well as camouflage slip-ons and urban trainers. For girls, there is plenty of embellishment on rain boots and slip-ons and we love the ethnic-inspired beaded sandals – all made for your little ones’ big adventures. There are even some mini-me block heels – perfect for the school disco.
HUNTER X PEPPA PIG COLLECTION
For a fashion collaboration that really makes a splash – look no further than Hunter’s collaboration with the ultimate lover of muddy puddles – Peppa Pig.
The limited-edition range of boots, backpacks and umbrellas finds Peppa and George hiding in muddy camouflage prints. It is super-cute, and certain to keep the little ones entertained when the heavens open.
IZIPIZI X BONPOINT
When it comes to protection for your children’s eyes, Izipizi is the brand to know. The award-winning design house has just teamed up with French luxury favourite Bonpoint, to create cool designs with 100 per cent UV protection, while their usual spring hinges and flexible, comfortable arms ensure the glasses adapt to all face shapes and sizes. Also worth a look is their Screen Junior spectacle collection (for three to 10-year-olds) which filters out 40 per cent of the blue light emitted by computer and tablet screens.

ARKET
You must check out the brilliant collaboration between Brazilian-born, Barcelona-based illustrator Jana Glatt, and one of our favourite high street childrenswear sources, Arket. It is the brand’s fourth Artist Edition and is filled with colourful characters for both boys and girls. What child wouldn’t love a skating dog or a tennis-playing lion, not to mention a horse-riding toad, on fuss-free sweatshirts and T-shirts all in Jana’s simplistic, graphic style. And we love that it can be effortlessly mix-and-matched into Arket’s unisex collection (don’t miss the mini Veja trainers).
JOSEPH & ALEXANDER
We love Joseph and Alexander’s fab eye-catching prints, but what we love even more is that the brand is doing its bit to tackle the problem of plastic in the ocean. All of their father and son swimming shorts, and mama and me swimwear, is made from plastic that was previously polluting the earth’s waters. Each year the brand donates 10 per cent of its profits to Plastic Oceans UK Foundation.
